Aid trucks from Egypt have arrived in the Gaza Strip under a new U.S.-brokered deal that will reopen a key humanitarian aid corridor, the Israeli military and the Egyptian Red Crescent said. Some 126 Egyptian trucks carrying food, fuel and other essentials arrived at the Kerem Shalom crossing into Gaza on Sunday, the Israeli military said in a statement. Ahmed Ezzat, an Egyptian Red Crescent official, said the trucks were inspected by Israeli officials. Sam Ross, a spokesman for UNRWA, said United Nations trucks sent to Kerem Shalom to receive Egyptian aid were forced to leave the crossing on Sunday because of security concerns. Officials, including Mr. Ross, said that as of Sunday, no aid had yet made it through the crossing.

German Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck said the Israeli offensive in Rafah was “not in accordance with international law”.
